Songs of the Humpback Whale
Dr. Adam Frankel
Male humpback whales produce a complex whale song, which lasts for 10 to 20 minutes
and is repeated for hours at a time. The purpose of the song is not yet clear,
although it appears to have a role in mating.
Dr. Frankel will discuss the fascinating songs of these marine mammals.

Reptiles
Carla Rohde
Box turtles are largely characterized by having a domed shell, which is hinged at the bottom, allowing the animal to close its shell tightly to escape predators. Even though box turtles have become very popular pets, their needs in captivity are complex and the capture of turtles can have serious detrimental effects on the wild population.
